Digital Receptionists for Hotels and Hospitality
The first face a guest sees
In hospitality, the first thirty seconds set the tone for a stay. A guest who's just come off a long flight wants a quick, clear answer — where's the restaurant, what time is breakfast, where's their room — not a queue behind a single staffed desk. A digital avatar at the entrance or front desk can take that first interaction without replacing the team behind it, picking up exactly the moments when the front desk is busiest and a guest would otherwise just have to wait.
What a digital receptionist can actually do
A faceOS avatar is trained on your property's own information — room types, amenities, restaurant hours, local recommendations, whatever you choose to give her — so she answers real guest questions rather than giving a generic greeting. While she talks, she can show the information that matters: a map of the property, the restaurant menu, or photos of a room category. And where it fits your setup, she can hand a guest over to a real staff member, call someone to the desk, share contact details, or book a meeting, closing the interaction with an actual outcome rather than leaving the guest to find their own way to the answer.
Which machine fits a lobby or restaurant
For a hotel lobby or a prominent entrance, a 7-foot holobox gives a genuine life-size presence that greets guests as they walk in. For a reception counter, a concierge desk, or a restaurant host stand, a 21-inch holobox or a 2D tabletop screen fits the smaller footprint of those spaces without losing any of the avatar's abilities.
Bilingual by default
Every faceOS avatar speaks Arabic and English as standard, with other languages available on request — which matters in hospitality more than almost anywhere else, given how genuinely international a typical hotel's guest list usually is on any given night. We go into this in more depth in bilingual Arabic/English avatars and why they matter in the Gulf.
Buying vs renting for a permanent placement
A hotel lobby or restaurant is usually a long-term placement rather than a single event, so this typically works as either buying the machine outright with a monthly avatar subscription, or renting the machine long-term with the same monthly subscription covering the software, content updates, support and hosting. The subscription has a minimum term of 6 months, and purchased machines carry a 12-month warranty covering internal faults. See the full pricing breakdown for how renting, buying and subscribing compare, and decide which structure fits whether you're testing the concept at one property or rolling it out across a group.
One honest limit worth knowing
Handoff to a real staff member is a genuinely useful feature for a hotel front desk, but it isn't available on 1 to 2 day event rentals — it's built for exactly this kind of longer-term hospitality placement, not a one-off event booth. If your property is considering the avatar for a short pop-up activation rather than a permanent fixture, it's worth checking which features apply to your specific booking length before you plan around them.
Where it sits alongside your existing team
A digital receptionist doesn't replace a concierge or a front-desk team; it absorbs the repetitive part of the job — the same ten questions asked by every new arrival — so your staff spend their time on the guests who need genuine judgement or a personal touch: a complaint, a special request, a regular guest who wants to be recognised. The avatar is consistent and always on; your team brings the warmth a repeat guest actually remembers.
Getting started
A good first question for any hotel is what the avatar should say, and to whom. We design the avatar's look, voice, script and languages around the answer, and training her on your property's specific information is where the real value shows up. For a single property, that's usually a conversation we can have directly with your operations team rather than a lengthy procurement process.
